At NOROHY, we strive to offer you exceptional raw materials from rich terroirs with recognized expertise. This is how our organic floral waters were conceived! Produced with respect for tradition, they exude notes of fresh flowers, thanks in particular to the distillation process. This quest for excellence is reflected in the double distillation of our organic Orange Blossom Water and our organic Rose Water.

All you need to know about double distillation

Today, we’d like to unveil the process that gives our floral waters their unrivalled aromatic quality: double distillation. Our mastery of double distillation, akin to “stripping”, enables us to guarantee the essential oil content of this range.

What is double distillation?

Initiated in Bulgaria in the 90s and now extended to Turkey, the stripping method involves distilling the floral water obtained from the first distillation a second time. This meticulous process amplifies the intrinsic qualities of the flowers and offers significant advantages:
  • Increased essential oil yield: The second distillation process concentrates the floral water even further, increasing its essential oil content. It is precisely these precious aromatic molecules that give floral water its fragrance and organoleptic qualities.
  • Oxidation reduction: This process helps stabilize floral water and preserve its freshness for longer by limiting the effects of oxidation.
  • Fresh, floral top notes: Double distillation favors the expression of top notes, bringing a lively, intensely floral fragrance closer to the natural scent of freshly picked flowers.
  • Enriched aroma profile: the resulting floral water has a higher concentration of beneficial compounds such as linalool, and a reduction in less desirable components such as rose oxide.

Norohy double distillation

For our Organic Rose Water from Bulgaria, in the heart of the Kazanlak Rose Valley, we use a special double distillation process. This guarantees exceptional aromatic potential when applied. This method ensures fresh, slightly zesty floral notes that will enhance your creations. The specific double distillation of our organic rose water is a testament to the specific know-how required for top-quality floral water.

Likewise, our Organic Orange Blossom Water from Tunisia (Cap Bon region) benefits from a specific manufacturing process. The aim, of course, is to ensure optimal aromatic potential in application.
