High-quality ingredients for organic rose water
Organic Damask Roses

NOROHY has chosen to work with Damascena rose for its organic rose water. Indeed, there are almost countless species of rose. However, the delicate, fresh notes of this variety caught the attention of our teams. The aim was to subtly perfume your recipes, to break away from the sometimes over-ambitious floral notes.
This flower is said to have originated in Syria and has been cultivated since Antiquity. The Crusaders are said to have brought it back from their journey to Europe. Since then, cultivation has spread to Turkey and Eastern Europe. It is now in Bulgaria that floral expertise has taken root, thanks to the favorable climate. Its characteristic fragrance makes it a highly prized flower in perfumery, aromatherapy and, of course, gastronomy.

A traditional industry with ancestral know-how

In the heart of Bulgaria’s Rose Valley, these delicate flowers blossom biodynamically. Harvested in the cool of the morning, these roses are picked by hand, one by one. They are then distilled a few kilometers from the plots within hours…

Much more than organic rose water...

NOROHY is committed to certifying the essence content of its organic rosewater at bottling. This is made possible by a rigorous selection of flowers, genuine cultural know-how and a rigorous distillation process. This guarantee of quality embodies NOROHY’s commitment to transparency for the consumer. Not only do we clearly announce our commitments, but we also display the essence content on the back of each bottle for each batch produced.

A clear recipe with no artificial flavoring

NOROHY organic rose water is a pure flavoring solution. A small amount of citric acid is added to facilitate preservation and reduce the risk of bacterial growth. No artificial flavorings or taste enhancers are added, leaving nature to express itself!

Distillation

Distillation is the process of capturing the aromas of fresh flowers. More precisely, this extraction process involves boiling rose petals mixed with water. Water vapor passes through the petals to pick up the aromas. It then rises in the distillation column. It then condenses as it cools, returning to a liquid state. The resulting hydrosol is called rose water, natural rose aroma or distilled rose water.

For example, it blends easily with citrus-based recipes such as lemon, orange or mandarin… Rose water also creates beautiful alliances with apples, lychee, pomegranate, grapefruit or red fruits. Traditionally, it is blended with dried fruits such as figs, pistachios, pine nuts, almonds or honey. And why not enhance your recipes with spicy notes such as cardamom and ginger? Finally, rosewater and dairy products are a great classic: cream, yogurt, milk or fromage blanc deliciously reveal floral notes. For the more adventurous, try surprising combinations with beet or fennel!
