A high-quality ingredient for a delicate, gourmet floral water
Organic orange blossoms from Tunisia

Tunisia’s Cap Bon region is ideal for growing citrus fruit, particularly bitter oranges. This is due not only to its mild, temperate climate, but also to the richness of its soil and the dynamism of the people who work it. In fact, the Cap Bon region is the original home of the sour orange tree. That’s why NOROHY has sought out a traditional local industry that masters both the cultivation and distillation of this fragrant flower.
Orange blossom has become an emblematic product of the region. Its cultivation and distillation represent an ancestral craft handed down from generation to generation.

Choosing a specific sector and process

NOROHY organic orange blossom water comes from a family-run agricultural chain, and is made from fresh bigarade blossoms. The blossoms are meticulously hand-picked, one by one. The night after harvesting, they are steam distilled for the first time, close to the orchards, to preserve the freshness of the flowers.
We have therefore opted for a second, specific distillation, in France, to obtain a natural organic orange blossom water with a higher concentration of essence.
In the interests of transparency, NOROHY indicates the essence content of each batch on the bottle.

Applications uses of orange blossom water

Orange blossom water is a typical ingredient of the Mediterranean region, used in cosmetics as well as in cooking. NOROHY recommends adding 20g of its orange blossom water to your recipes per kilo of preparation. For a more intense fragrance, don't hesitate to double the dose.

A little mixology

Orange blossom water has always been used as a beverage. It can be diluted with water for a cool drink in summer, or as an herbal tea in colder weather. Do you know white coffee? This Lebanese drink is a real delight! Just pour boiling water over a little honey and orange blossom water. Delicious, isn’t it? You can also vary the pleasures with other floral waters such as rose water. Its digestive and soothing virtues are sure to be appreciated at the end of a meal.
In mixology, many cocktails use it for a gourmand, vegetal and flowery note.

And for savory dishes?

In savory cuisine, orange blossom water can be used in a wide range of dishes, particularly carrots, but also white meats and fish.

What combinations are there with orange blossom water?

To keep with tradition, combine orange blossom water with honey or dried fruit (pine nuts, pistachios, almonds…). For true harmony, citrus fruits are an obvious choice, as are red fruits (strawberries, cherries, etc.). Think also of yellow fruits like peach, melon and apricot, which combine divinely with orange blossom. For a tangier touch, combine with rhubarb…
A few drops of orange blossom water on strawberries will also develop wild strawberry aromas. This is due in part to the presence of a molecule common to wild strawberries and orange blossom water: methyl anthranilate!
